Become an LCMS Member

Membership in the Lee County Medical Society (LCMS) is a voluntary, annual professional membership open to MDs and DOs practicing in Lee County, Florida. LCMS provides valuable services, programs, and advocacy for physician members in the local medical community.

New applicants are welcome to join at any time throughout the year. For Active and Associate Members, dues are prorated for those joining between April and December.

Active Member

If you are a local physician and not yet a member of the Lee County Medical Society (LCMS), we would like to extend an invitation for you to join your colleagues in the area who are already members. The Society provides services, programs and activities designed to meet the professional and personal needs of member physicians, and it strives to maintain a proactive member-driven approach in service to the profession and the community.

To be eligible for membership in the LCMS, an individual must meet the following:

  • A doctor of medicine or osteopathy who has satisfactorily completed an internship and/or residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the American Osteopathic Association,
  • Live or has a principal practice in Lee County,
  • Is of good moral character and professional standing, and
  • Does not support, practice or claim to practice any exclusive system of healing.

Associate Member

Associate Membership is for physicians working and/or living in surrounding counties, such as Charlotte, Collier or Hendry. Associate members cannot vote or be board members.

Resident Member

Resident Membership is available to physicians currently enrolled in an accredited residency program.

Retired Member

Retired Membership is for physicians who are no longer actively practicing medicine. These members have typically spent their careers serving the medical community and wish to remain involved in the Society on a non-practicing basis. Retired members may not vote or serve on the board.
